Since 2003, GBE has built a strong business partnership with Neoteric (www.neoterictech.com) and Haemonetics in the Health Care Service Sector, specifically in the area of blood tracking and patient safety. This work has lead to the design and introduction of the world renowned and award winning BloodTrack® Suite of products.

These products add an invaluable level of safety, via the control and allocation of blood products, along with the value-added stock control and rotation which cuts a significant amount of blood product wastage within the hospital environment. It also enables a full ‘vein to vein’ audit trail of blood products which is another essential patient safety feature.

The scanner for BloodTrack® was design in conjunction with HandHeld Products (http://www.handheld.com), GBE worked directly with the HHP design engineers to produce an efficient, rugged and cost effectively scan solution. GBE is an approved reseller of HHP products.

The BloodTrack® suite of products is designed on a modular basis and is extremely flexible; applications can be installed individually or as a complete system. The following gives a good overview of the product range:

GBE’s design and manufacturing involvement is with the BloodTrack® Courier, BloodTrack® Hemosafe and BloodTrack® HemoNine products. GBE also pre-configures and supplies the server support system.

BloodTrack® Kiosk – The essential hardware platform for BloodTrack® Courier, manufactured and designed by GBE. It electronically controls and tracks the movement of blood products in and out of refrigerators. Also facilitates the BloodTrack® OnDemand system which allows blood units at remote refrigerators to be allocated, whilst retaining full control and audit trail.

BloodTrack® HemoNine – Is a custom designed blood bank refrigerator with nine independently locking and controlled drawers for blood bag storage and allocation. The refrigerator, manufactured by Angelantoni, contains a GBE designed and manufactured control board which seamlessly interfaces with the BloodTrack® OnDemand software. All access to the refrigerator is controlled via a BloodTrack® Kiosk.

BloodTrack® Hemosafe – Hemosafe dispenses individual blood units quickly and safely from 150 refrigerated compartments. The compatibility label is also printed on allocation. The device is manufactured by Angelantoni, with components from the GBE design team.

BloodTrack® is protected under U.S. Patent 6,983,884. Other U.S. and International patents pending.
BloodTrack® Hemosafe & BloodTrack® Kiosk has been FDA cleared for sale in the U.S; the latter with full TUV approval certificate number U8 07 05 57674 001.
